Anhydrous lanolin is used in medicine for the manufacture of ointments, in cosmetology for the manufacture of creams, shampoos, lipstick, and is widely used in children's cosmetics. Means based on lanolin are intended for baby skin care under a diaper in order to prevent dry skin, and also prevents cracks in the nipples of nursing mothers during active breastfeeding.

Anhydrous lanolin (from Latin lana - wool and Latin oleum - oil) is a natural animal wax, wool wax, obtained by boiling fat from sheep wool. There are various derivatives of lanolin: oxyethylated, hydrated, acetylated, hydrogenated.

In ancient times, unrefined fat was used, which included harmful substances and other impurities. But even in those distant times, cosmetology developed rapidly. And some time later, in 1876, Otto Braun began to chemically process the fat from sheep's wool. The resulting ointment, Otto Brown called "Lanolin".
